AT&T Provides New MPLS Network for Boeing

AT&T's Advanced Network Links 91 Boeing Locations Across the U.S. and the U.K.

Seattle, Washington, December 6, 2006

AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) announced today that a 91-location MPLS-based (Multiprotocol Label Switching) network using IP (Internet Protocol) connectivity has been built for The Boeing Company (NYSE: BA).

Under a recently completed three-year, multimillion-dollar contract, AT&T helped link 91 Boeing sites in North America and the United Kingdom by providing a new Virtual Private Network (VPN) to transport Boeing's data traffic. The effort stems from Boeing's companywide initiative to increase efficiencies and reduce costs. With AT&T, Boeing has consolidated its data centers and redesigned its WAN (Wide Area Network) to accommodate the increase in customer-generated traffic on the network.

The advanced and efficient routing capabilities of AT&T's MPLS technology provide Boeing with the flexibility to locate applications from any place, at any time and with improved performance on their critical applications. By maximizing the value of a single, flexible MPLS-based network, Boeing has reduced the cost of its network while increasing bandwidth, performance and functionality.
