AT&T Announces New Contract with Lake Erie Educational Computer Association

Elyria, Ohio, January 17, 2007

AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) today announced a new optical services contract with Lake Erie Educational Computer Association (LEECA), a division of the Ohio Education Computer Network that provides technology assistance to 31 member public districts and 90 associate-member private schools within the region. Under the terms of the five-year contract, AT&T will serve as the primary optical services provider, delivering AT&T OPT-E-MAN® service to five locations within Ohio.

With AT&T OPT-E-MAN service, a fully managed, switched Ethernet network service, LEECA will have a highly efficient solution for communicating across multiple locations over a secure, managed network. OPT-E-MAN service provides broadband capabilities, allowing LEECA to link multiple facilities and share information with employees and partner schools.

The expanded bandwidth and increased reliability, via AT&T OPT-E-MAN service, will ensure consistent and secure application and Internet access for its member district facilities. Additionally, LEECA will be able to deploy additional applications, such as consolidated file storage and backup services, and streaming video through the converged network infrastructure.

"With multiple locations throughout the region, we needed a provider capable of connecting our facilities via a high speed fiber based network," said Lloyd Wright, director of technology, Lake Erie Educational Computer Association. "We believe that the solution provided by AT&T will fulfill our bandwidth needs for the immediate future. This will allow us to better serve our customers' existing needs while allowing us to consider the expansion of our service offerings over the next few years."
