AT&T U-verse Expands Availability and Adds New Features in Dallas-Fort Worth

Innovative Television Service Now Available to More Than 325,000 Homes

Dallas-Fort Worth Customers First to Receive Suite of New Interactive U-verse TV Features

Dallas-Ft. Worth, Texas, September 18, 2007

AT&T U-verseSM is changing the television experience in Dallas-Fort Worth — in a big way. AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) today announced that AT&T U-verse TV and Internet services are now available to more than 325,000 homes in the North Texas area, marking a significant expansion since AT&T U-verse launched locally in March 2007.

In addition, Dallas-Fort Worth customers are the first to receive a suite of new U-verse TV features — currently available for all local U-verse TV customers at no extra charge — that further differentiate the service from cable, including:

  • AT&T U-bar, which brings Internet-like content to the television screen in the form of local weather, stock, sports, and traffic information. Customers who also subscribe to AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet U-verse enabled have the option to customize the U-bar from their AT&T Yahoo! broadband account to display weather at a specified location, their personal stock portfolio, and scores for their favorite sports teams.
  • YELLOWPAGES.COM TV, an intuitive new way to search for local businesses and other information via U-verse TV.
  • AT&T Yahoo! Games, available over the television screen, including Sudoku, Solitaire, JT's Blocks, Mah-jongg Tiles, and Chess.

"AT&T U-verse has a big presence in Dallas-Fort Worth, and it's here to stay," said Deb Peoples, AT&T vice president and general manager for North Texas. "We've told our customers that AT&T is working to bring them a new and exciting television choice, and the fact that we've made U-verse services available to more than 325,000 homes demonstrates our commitment. We're thrilled that Dallas-Fort Worth customers are the first to enjoy the new enhancements that — along with our other unmatched features — make U-verse TV cooler than cable."

Texas was the first state where AT&T deployed U-verse services, thanks to progressive legislation passed in September 2005 by the Texas Legislature and signed by Gov. Rick Perry.

AT&T is the only national provider to offer a 100 percent Internet Protocol-based television (IPTV) service, making U-verse TV one of the most advanced television offerings available anywhere. The company recently reached the milestone of more than 100,000 U-verse customers, and AT&T U-verse has been recognized as the 2007 Best Business Strategy by industry analyst firm Stratecast.

The deployment of next-generation video services, including AT&T U-verse TV and AT&T HomezoneSM, reflects AT&T's strategy to become customers' preferred communications and entertainment provider and to deliver a video solution through its traditional footprint that provides greater value, flexibility and simplicity than competitors' offerings.
