AT&T Wins Four ATLANTIC-ACM Wholesale Metro Carrier Excellence Awards

Orlando, Florida, October 6, 2008

AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) today announced that the AT&T Wholesale organization received four 2008 ATLANTIC-ACM Wholesale Metro Carrier Excellence Awards at the COMPTEL PLUS Fall 2008 Convention & Expo in Orlando. The awards presented Monday afternoon were based on the results of the third annual Metro Carrier Report Card, which evaluates the performance of metro carriers by their wholesale customers and is based on more than 3,000 individual carrier evaluations.

AT&T Wholesale was voted Best in Class incumbent in the following categories:

  • Brand
  • Data Value
  • Voice Value
  • Network Quality (tie)

"The U.S. Metro sector is a significant area that is growing steadily and AT&T continues to meet the needs of metro carriers through delivering high quality data and voice products and services," said Judy Reed Smith, CEO, ATLANTIC-ACM.

The ATLANTIC-ACM Metro research is an industry-wide, survey-based study that enables wholesale customers to provide feedback on multiple carriers in a variety of service and product categories, and on a variety of products. The awards are based on the average score each carrier received for each service and product category, and awards were presented to the highest scoring incumbent, and the highest scoring metro/fiber provider.

The study results will be included in the ATLANTIC-ACM Metro Carrier Report Card, which is in its third year and continues to succeed in capturing a valuable overview of the wholesale landscape from the customer's perspective. The report card features wholesale customer ratings of carrier performance in metro-specific product and business relationship categories from the past 24 months of service.

"These awards prove that our wholesale customers are successfully utilizing our robust metro service offerings to meet their demands for connectivity," said Randall Porter, assistant vice president, Wholesale Marketing, AT&T Operations Inc. "Metro is a crucial sector and we continue to see strong demand for our award-winning voice and data solutions."
