AT&T Wins Capacity Magazine's 'Best Global Wholesale Offering' Award

Dallas, Texas, November 17, 2008

Amsterdam, Netherlands — AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) today announced that AT&T has further solidified its position as a leading provider of wholesale services, receiving Capacity magazine’s “Best Global Wholesale Offering” award. The Global Wholesale Awards were announced Monday at the Capacity Europe 2008 conference in Amsterdam.

Capacity is a respected trade magazine for telecommunications carriers and service providers. The judging panel for the awards included Capacity magazine’s senior editorial team as well as leading telecom industry analysts at ATLANTIC-ACM.

“As a communications leader, AT&T has consistently demonstrated its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of wholesale customers,” said Matthew Whalley, editor of Capacity magazine. “Global service providers are looking to achieve sustainable growth, and AT&T has expanded its role as a solutions provider to design, execute and manage the integrated solutions that service providers require.”

Earlier this year, AT&T extended its network deployment and management expertise to service providers in various parts of the world, establishing consultative business relationships that allow local or regional carriers to tap into lessons learned by AT&T over its more than a century of service. This knowledge transfer can help a carrier benefit from AT&T’s expertise and improve both quality of service and reliability. AT&T’s professional and consulting service offerings include managed hosting solutions; database, storage and security services; networking and business continuity solutions; Web site hosting and Internet applications; and many business operations processes and support systems for business customers.

“In today’s wholesale landscape, nothing is more important than delivering value to our customers,” said Sherry Charles, vice president, Wholesale and GEM Solutions Marketing, AT&T Operations Inc. “Service providers are increasingly being called on to help connect the world’s markets, and this award affirms that our integrated solutions help our customers effectively run their business and compete in today’s global marketplace.”

AT&T wholesale customers benefit from the expansive reach of one of the largest communications networks in the world. In September 2008, industry analyst firm Current Analysis¹ reported that it was “taking a positive stance on AT&T’s wholesale services because AT&T has a depth and breadth of services that are unmatched by any other carrier, and its overall network coverage gives AT&T a solid international footprint from which the company can offer a mix of voice and data services.”

As a global leader, AT&T delivers a full portfolio of end-to-end, reliable and highly secure network, voice, data and Internet Protocol solutions to the six wholesale industry segments that it serves: carriers, wireless operators, cable providers, systems integrators, Internet service providers and content providers. AT&T is one of the largest wholesale transport and communications service providers in the world — maintaining connections to more than 600 carriers in more than 220 countries and territories. AT&T brings value to wholesale customers through its industry-leading solutions, full-circle multifaceted business relationships and scale, scope and expertise.
