AT&T Government Solutions Wins Alliant Contract from General Services Administration
AT&T Government Solutions ready to serve Information Technology (IT) needs of federal agency customers through Alliant vehicle
Vienna, Virginia, March 30, 2009
The AT&T Government Solutions business unit has just announced that it will help agencies maximize their IT infrastructure capabilities under the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Alliant contract.
Alliant, which was awarded to 58 other companies, is a Government-wide, Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) acquisition vehicle with a contract ceiling of $50 billion with a five-year base and one five-year option. Under the terms of the Alliant contract, AT&T Government Solutions will provide federal defense and civilian agencies with high quality systems engineering and tailored IT solutions to help them maximize their full IT potential.
AT&T* is the only company that has been awarded Alliant, Networx Universal, Networx Enterprise and SATCOM-II contracts — enabling AT&T Government Solutions to fully support the converging IT and networking requirements of defense and civilian agencies across all four of these GSA flagship contract vehicles.
"AT&T Government Solutions has a proven track record of past performance built on meeting the IT needs of defense and civilian agencies," said Don Herring, senior vice president-AT&T Government Solutions, AT&T Global Services. "With our wireless and networking expertise, combined with our high quality systems engineering and tailored IT solutions, AT&T Government Solutions is a trusted partner that is strategically positioned to address the IT challenges of federal agencies via Alliant. We're honored to be awarded Alliant and believe we have the experience, technology and innovation to help support our agency customers."
AT&T Government Solutions, Inc. can compete for task orders through Alliant Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) subcategories: Infrastructure, Applications Services and IT Management Services. The company has four specialized IT practice areas it can leverage for Alliant: Information Assurance, Application Solutions, Mission Support and Network Solutions.
"More and more agencies need IT solutions that are scalable, collaborative, and secure," said John Klebonis, vice president-AT&T Government Solutions, AT&T Global Services. "AT&T Government Solutions has delivered these tailored IT solutions to defense and civilian agencies for more than 40 years, building a solid reputation for past performance in the process. We can help agencies optimize their IT investments while managing within their established budget parameters."
AT&T Government Solutions' high quality systems engineering and tailored IT solutions, which it will provide through Alliant, have received a Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI®) Level 3 rating from the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) of Carnegie Mellon University. For several years, CMMI has been used as a prerequisite and evaluation factor by military and civilian government programs that have significant systems and software engineering projects.
AT&T Government Solutions has the ability as a prime contractor to deliver upon 90 percent of the Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) subcategories and to source the remaining 10 percent through AT&T's 500-plus preferred IT subcontractor team. In addition, 85 percent of all AT&T Government Solutions employees hold government-sponsored accesses and clearances; 75 percent of these employees are based in the DC area.
For the last 40 years, AT&T Government Solutions has served the IT needs of federal agencies such as the Department of Justice, the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Army and the U.S. Postal Service.
