Q. Minimum Web Browser Requirements

A. Make sure that you have Internet Explorer 7.0, Safari 4.3 or higher browser installed on your system. It is extremely important that you configure your browser correctly.

We recommend Internet Explorer 7.0, Safari 4.3 or higher browser.

Please note: Yahoo! Video is currently not compatible with Netscape.

Q. How do I connect computers to the AT&T U-verse Residential Gateway?

A. There are several connection options for additional computers to the AT&T U-verse enabled Residential Gateway (2Wire model 3700HGV-B or 3800HGV-B). You can connect additional computers by either Ethernet, Wireless or USB.

A. No. You should not need to download any drivers for AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet.

Q. What will my email address be with AT&T U-verse service?

A. If you are an existing AT&T High Speed Internet or dial customer, your email address may remain the same (some regional moves do not allow you to keep your existing email address). If you are not an existing AT&T High Speed Internet or dial customer, your email address will be in the format of username@att.net.

Q. What should I do to get ready for my AT&T U-verse installation?

A. Check Your Appointment Status
We've made checking your appointment easy. You can check your appointment status online 24 hours after you've placed your order.

Rescheduling
Need to reschedule your appointment? No problem, just call us 24 hours before your scheduled appointment using the phone number in your order confirmation.

Before Your Installation
Property Owner Consent:
Rent or Lease your residence? Be sure to get the property owner's consent before having U-verse installed.

Disconnecting Existing Services:
Timing is everything. To make sure you're not without your TV or Internet service, we recommend waiting until AFTER your U-verse installation before contacting your current provider.

Move Furniture:
Be sure to clear a path to your telephone, TV and computer jacks/outlets before your installer arrives.

Time and Authorized Person
Please keep in mind, an adult (18 years or older) will need to be present for the installation, which generally averages 4 hours depending on the services and number of receivers being installed.

Monitored Home Alarm System:
We don't want to impact your monitored alarm system contract, so if you have ordered U-verse Voice, we recommend you notify your alarm company about your U-verse installation BEFORE your appointment. After the installation, be sure to test your alarm system.

Installation Day
Technician Call:
Your installation will begin between the hours you selected when placing your order. Installation generally averages 4 hours, depending on the services and number of receivers being installed. On the day of installation, the AT&T U-verse technician will call and give you an estimated time of arrival.

Confirm Order:
Your satisfaction is important to us, so upon arrival, your technician will review and confirm your order selections.

Testing:
Before starting any inside wiring, the technician will run some tests to make sure U-verse services can be installed at your address.

Internet Connection:
Your installer will work with you to place the residential gateway in a location that is optimal for all your U-verse services.

Post Installation
Once the AT&T U-verse technician has completed your AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet service installation, you can easily configure your internet service using the AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet Service Setup application.

Q. How do I connect my Xbox 360 game console to my modem using an ethernet connection??

A. Hardware Instructions:

  1. Before you connect any cables, make sure there is no disc in the disc tray of your console.
  2. Turn the console off, then turn off your modem or router and disconnect the modem or router from its power source.
  3. Connect one end of the ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the back of your console.
  4. Connect the other end of the ethernet cable to a LAN port on your modem or router. Your modem or router's LAN port may be labeled LAN, Ethernet, or with a number. Do not connect the cable to the port labeled WAN.
  5. Turn on your console.
  6. Wait 30 seconds and turn on your modem or router.


Xbox 360 Software Instructions:

  1. Network configuration is automatic on the Xbox 360. When you plug into the wired network, the Xbox 360 determines the proper connections automatically. For a wireless connection, you may need to enter a key code when you connect to the network.
  2. NOTE: There may be online games that have ports being blocked by the modem. In these cases, perform an IP-passthrough to allow the Xbox to reach the online game.
