Suspend service
You can place residential AT&T Internet, AT&T Phone, U-verse TV, DIRECTV, or Fixed Wireless Internet on a temporary hold for 60 days.. To be eligible for a suspension, your service has to have been active for 30 days, and your account must be current. During this time you:
- Will have limited or no access to the service(s) on hold
- Won’t have a monthly plan charge.
- May be responsible for monthly equipment or other AT&T fees as well as any applicable surcharges and taxes.
Have AT&T Internet, AT&T Phone, or U-verse TV on a combined bill? You can’t suspend these services individually. A request to suspend will apply to all of these services on the combined bill.
Heads up: We can’t process an online suspend request for business accounts or if your service is already suspended.
Submit an online suspend request
Restore service
Want to restart your service before the suspension period ends? If you asked us to suspend your service you can submit an online request to restore.
If your services are on a military suspend, we can’t process an online request to restore. Contact us to restore your services
You can cancel residential DSL High Speed Internet or Traditional Home Phone online (business accounts aren’t eligible). If you cancel either service, and change your mind, we may not be able to restore the service or phone number to your location. If your service is:
- Part of a bundled discount, the price of remaining services (if any) may revert to then-existing price for such a service.Â
- Part of a combined bill, the remaining service(s) will continue to be billed unless cancelled.
- Subject to a term plan, you’ll be subject to any early termination fee associated with that plan.

AT&T Wireless
If you have a compatible plan and capable phone or tablet, you can use it as a hotspot to share your mobile data connection, up to the allotment of mobile hotspot data included in your plan (or up to your total plan data allotment for the month if you are on a shared data plan). Here’s how:
  1. Go to Change my plan and choose See plan details.
  2. If your plan is a Mobile Share plan or, if you have an unlimited plan, look for Mobile Hotspot. If you have either, you're good to go. If you don’t, then your current plan doesn’t support it. Try looking for current plans that do.
AT&T PREPAID
With a compatible plan and device, you can use your AT&T PREPAID device as a mobile hotspot. Here’s how:
  1. Sign in to your account and choose Plans.
  2. Select Plan details.
  3. Look for Mobile hotspot. Is it there? You're good to go. Don’t see it? Your current plan doesn’t support them. Close plan details and look for plans that do. Or, go to Add-ons.
