Block text messages from email address (spammers latest technique)

I am optimistically happy to report that, after having to call 3 separate times to ATT tech support, it seems the process described earlier in this thread (open article 446389, then click on TORCH, then MIND, then EMAIL GATEWAY.) has been successful. On my third try I was finally able to get a tech support rep willing to go 'off script' and follow my specific instructions as noted in the parentheses above, and since then, I've gotten no further texts from email sources. So here's a big shout-out to all those earlier posters who described the process! And a big 'shout-down' to ATT tech support for making many of us repeatedly plead with generally ill-informed tech support reps in order to find some resolution to this quite vexing issue!

ATT shut off phone service

We hope that your recovery goes well while you're in the hospital, @445162gg! Also, the information that you received about the arrival of your SIM card isn't the kind of experience we want for our customers.   There are a few things to keep in mind when using an unlocked device on our network. We want to advise that, as @GLIMMERMAN76 shared, the BlackBerry Key2 isn't found among our list of unlocked devices the with service capabilities to work on our network.   It’s important to check the device model numbers to make sure it’s still supported since the 3G network shutdown. This includes iPads, tablets, and wearables. Once you know a device still works, you may need to restart your device or check the VoLTE or LTE status.   Checkout Act Now - 3G is Gone and view the section Will my phone automatically work if it supports HD Voice?   Your phone will work if the HD Voice feature is turned on. If you can’t make or receive calls, or you’re having trouble accessing data, check the VoLTE or LTE status of your phone. Here’s how: iPhone 7 and above: Go to Settings, then General, and lastly Software update. Select Download and install to update to the most current software version. iPhone 6: Go to Settings, then Cellular, and then Cellular data options. Choose Enable LTE then select Voice and Data and turn on LTE. Android: Go to Settings and then Connection. Choose Mobile networks and then Enhanced LTE services and select On. What's more, as advised by @GLIMMERMAN76, 4G LTE handsets use our 3G network for voice calls. For example, while iPhone 6 devices and newer will continue to work, iPhone 5 and older will not work due to their incompatibility with our HD Voice network. Systematically you will see a 4G LTE indicator for data on a 3G dependent device.   Customers still using 3G supported devices are encouraged to upgrade to an HD Voice capable device, upgrade their SIM, or both. When your new SIM arrives, the device you’re moving your SIM card to will still need to work on our network.   We hope this information helps.
