4G Cell Booster

@wafredrick Read my Tech Guide, link is in my sig line. If the MicroCell worked before then the Cell Booster should be plug and play, but it has all new hardware so there are differences between the two. It could also be an issue with your service area as AT&T starts the complete shutdown of their 3G network. Check your router and see if the MAC address is even listed in the DHCP table.  There are reported issues with Arris routers by some so it may be a default setting somewhere that is having issues with the Cell Booster connection. You'll have to work that out with AT&T on how to check the router settings. I'm assuming that you have a direct connection from the Cell Booster to the router and that the GPS antenna is firmly in place and either attached to a window or sitting on the window sill. Have you power cycled the Cell Booster  and/or the gateway? Have you Reset the Cell Booster?

Why iS AT&T no longer supporting my 4G cell phone?

Your phone may be 4G for data but 3G for voice. If the phone is not on ATT’s supported phones list, it is not supported by ATT for VoLTE, meaning it drops down to the 3G network for calls. If it is on the list but still not getting VoLTE, it could very well be the SIM card.

4G S8 to be disconnected with 3G shutdown - here is what you can do

Hello Community,   There is a lot of great information included in this thread, but we wanted to make sure one troubleshooting step was called out, so it isn’t missed.  A common issue is that some or all LTE service may be toggled to ‘off’ within the device settings inadvertently.  This can cause both voice and data issues depending on the device.  To Resolve: First:  Determine if the device is “HD Voice-capable” (a.k.a. “LTE Calling”, “VoLTE”, or “Voice over LTE”) If no, you will need an HD Voice-capable device If yes, but not AT&T branded, you may need to update the device software. Second:  For those experiencing loss of Voice and/or Data service, check the following settings and then power cycle the device.  Apple - based on iOS version: Settings->Cellular->Cellular Data Options->Voice & Data->LTE (select LTE option) Settings->Cellular->Cellular Data Options->Enable LTE (select LTE option) Settings->Cellular->Cellular Data Options->Enable LTE->Voice & Data (select Voice & Data option) Android Go to Settings > Connection > Mobile networks > Enhanced LTE services and select on. Once complete, please ensure you power your phone off and back on to establish a fresh connection with the network. The information below is specifically geared to the recent 3G shutdown.  If you were not part of the 3G shutdown, please troubleshoot as normal using the information included in other posts. Tim, AT&T Community Specialist
