When you bring your device to AT&T, sign up for a Mobile Share AdvantageSM Plan and you can enjoy unlimited talk, text, and shared data with no overage charges. Once you use all of your high-speed data amounts, including any available Rollover Data, all data usage will be reduced to a max of 128 Kbps (2G speeds) for the rest of your bill cycle. Data usage will be impacted. Plus this plan will include Stream Saver.

Quick facts

To use data services on the AT&T network with a device from another carrier or purchased directly from the manufacturer, you may need to program the data settings. If you are using an AT&T branded device, it should already be programmed with the correct settings. Once you have an AT&T SIM and have activated the AT&T SIM card, you can put it in any compatible, unlocked GSM device you choose.

Yes, you add a line by logging in to your account and adding a SIM, plan, and services.

Your new SIM card will be sent to you by mail and arrives ready to use. All you have to do is insert it in your phone or tablet, and you're ready to go.

To find out if your device uses a SIM card, a micro-SIM card, or a nano-SIM card, enter your device and brand, or the IMEI number, above. All versions of the iPhone® 5 use a nano-SIM card. iPhone 4/4S uses a micro-SIM. Most 4G LTE Android™ phones use a micro-SIM.

A SIM (subscriber identification module) card is embedded with a specially programmed microchip that inserts into a compatible Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) mobile device. The SIM card encrypts transmissions and identifies the user to the mobile network. Without a SIM card inserted into the mobile equipment, only emergency calls to 911 can be made.

 

MOBILE SHARE ADVANTAGE: No charge for overage. After all your high-speed data allotments are used, all data usage is slowed to a max of 128 Kbps (2G speed) for the rest of the bill cycle. You will have basic data use for viewing a web page or checking email. Audio/video streaming, picture/ video messaging, as well as other usage, including sponsored data, will be impacted & may not work. See att.com/broadbandinfo for information about AT&T network management practices. Video Streaming: Plan includes Stream Saver, which allows you to save data by streaming higher definition video at Standard Definition quality (about 480p). AT&T will activate it. Check your account online to see if active. You may then turn it off or back on at any time at att.com/myatt. Stream Saver will not recognize all video content.
