Make sure your connected devices are safe. Use ActiveArmor internet security or advanced internet security.
About Internet Security
AT&T ActiveArmor℠ internet security is network protection through your AT&T Wi-Fi® gateway or All-Fi™ Hub. Some devices use antivirus apps or software to protect them. Other devices may not be as secure. If not properly protected, smart TVs, doorbell cameras, voice assistants, and more can make your Wi-Fi network vulnerable.
ActiveArmor internet security offers network protection for all your devices—both wired and Wi-Fi. It detects threats, suspicious internet activity, and unsafe behavior while also protecting your devices and network.
Requirements
You can get AT&T ActiveArmor internet security if you have:
AT&T Smart Home Manager to manage security features
AT&T Fiber plan based on current speed or Internet Air
BGW210 or BGW320 Wi-Fi gateway or an All-Fi Hub
If you meet these requirements, you’ll see an AT&T internet security card in Smart Home Manager. You can review the Terms & Conditions and install AT&T internet security from there.
Haven’t used Smart Home Manager yet? You can have all your network connection info right at your fingertips. Manage your network using Smart Home Manager from your computer, or download the app from the Apple App store or Google Play store.
How it works
ActiveArmor internet security protects your devices by scanning your network traffic. Smart Home Manager will let you know about:
Device weaknesses
Known default device passwords (often found on printers and scanners)
Unsecure or unsafe websites
Suspicious network traffic between a device and the internet
Ongoing prevented network attacks
We suggest using an antivirus software for additional protection. Antivirus software protects your devices from infected emails, software, file downloads, USB sticks, or other storage devices.
ActiveArmor advanced internet security
Have a BGW320 and Smart Home Manager? You can also get advanced internet security, which includes:
Private browsing with VPN
ID monitoring
Advanced content controls
Threat activity dashboard
What if I get a Webpage Blocked notification?
AT&T internet security scans traffic for dangerous websites. Sometimes a webpage that you know is safe may trigger a blocked notification. If you trust the page, you can select Allow Access to add the site to the exceptions list in Smart Home Manager.
Good to know: When you add a page to the exceptions list, you won’t be warned about future threats from that page.
Is AT&T internet security compatible with third-party routers?
Any device connected to a third-party router can’t be seen or protected by AT&T internet security. To protect your Wi-Fi network, your gateway or hub has to handle IP address assignments. Set your router to Bridge mode or AP mode. Then, confirm all devices appear in the Smart Home Manager device list for proper device security scanning.
How do I use Identity Monitoring?
It’s easy to set up Identity Monitoring. Just enter your email addresses, phone numbers, medical IDs, or unique IDs, like a passport or driver’s license. We’ll run an initial scan to see if a breach has already occurred. Then, we’ll continue to monitor and alert you of breaches. If we find a breach, you’ll get notified in the Smart Home Manager message center.
How do I use the VPN feature with advanced security?
Once you have activated advanced security:
Go to Smart Home Manager on your computer or open the Smart Home Manager app.
Choose Network, then Connected devices. Only devices connected to your network will be displayed.
Choose the device you want to connect to VPN.
Turn VPNON, then choose a location. Repeat for up to five devices.
FYI: VPN connections may be slower than your regular AT&T internet service. Also, you may not be able to use some services with VPN, like video streaming apps.
