Use your wireless number and an Amazon Echo smart speaker to make and receive calls.


Requirements

  • Amazon Echo® smart speaker
  • AT&T smartphone with the latest version of the Alexa app1 installed
  • AT&T user ID and password linked to your wireless number (AT&T Prepaid® isn’t supported)

Set up and use NumberSync

Sync Echo smart speaker

  1. Open the Alexa app on your smartphone.
  2. Tap the More option (three lines) and then Settings.
  3. Choose Communication, then AT&T.
  4. Enter your AT&T ID and password, then tap Sign in.
  5. Follow the prompts to link your wireless number to NumberSync.

Use Echo smart speaker

Try a voice command like Alexa, call mom to make sure it’s working.

If you’re having problems making or receiving calls:

  • Confirm you’re using the right AT&T user ID.
  • Make sure your Echo smart speaker is close to your Wi-Fi® router and has a good connection.
  • Reset your Wi-Fi router and try to reconnect your Echo smart speaker.

Remove NumberSync

Unsync an Echo smart speaker

  1. Open the Alexa app.
  2. Tap the More option (three lines) and then Settings.
  3. Choose Communication, then AT&T.
  4. Select Unlink account.

FYI: If you want to sync an Echo smart speaker to another AT&T WirelessSM number, just unsync the current number. Then, sync the new number to an Echo, making sure it has an AT&T user ID.
