Find out how to keep your charges predictable when traveling abroad.
International charges apply when you talk, text, or use data outside the U.S., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. But you can save if you have AT&T International Day Pass (IDP), the AT&T Elite 2.0 plan, or another plan or feature that includes international travel.
When you arrive in a covered destination, we’ll send you a text to confirm whether it’s included in your plan. If it isn’t, we’ll let you know what rates you’ll be charged for that location. It’ll most likely be IDP or pay-per-use rates. Learn more about IDP
Note: International roaming data usage may be at slower speeds.
Keep track of your wireless usage with the AT&T app. Compatible device and account registration required. Data and messaging rates may apply for app download and usage.
Enjoy Wi-Fi® networks whenever available. Wi-Fi connections don’t count against your data allowance.
FYI: Calls using Wi-Fi Calling from outside the U.S. to anywhere other than the U.S. are billed based on your international roaming feature on the line. (Calls to U.S. numbers using Wi-Fi Calling are at no extra cost.) You can add International Day Pass or upgrade to Elite 2.0 to cover your device in 210+ destinations.
To stop using cellular data, turn off data roaming. This prevents you from using data until you connect to Wi-Fi. You use data for things like email, web browsing, Visual Voicemail, and sending or receiving picture and video messages.
You should be able to make and receive phone calls and text messages.
