Review settings to help prevent unauthorized access to your account—whether online, in-store, or by phone.

Account settings

Wireless account lock

Turning on wireless account lock disables some transactions and account changes for all devices and lines on your account. Review wireless account lock details

User ID or password

Update your user ID if it’s something easy to guess, or it’s been compromised.

Change your password if you think someone has accessed your account. Try to create a long password with a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. If you have more than one ID, be sure to use different passwords for each one. Find out how to change your user ID or password

Account passcodes

A passcode is like a numerical PIN, and you use it for a specific account. You need your passcode if you call us about your account.  There are two types of passcodes:

  • Wireless passcodes are used for wireless accounts that aren’t combined with other services like AT&T Internet, Phone, or U-verse® TV. You can use this to add an extra layer of security to your online account when you turn on extra security.
  • Account passcodes are available for AT&T Internet, Phone, and U-verse TV accounts, as well as combined accounts that include wireless service.

Contact info

Make sure you have the most up-to-date info in your account details. You can:

  • Change your contact email address if you don’t think your email is private.
  • Review the phone numbers on all your accounts. Make sure you note which phone numbers have permission to reset your password.
