Speak, watch, pause, and do more with your AT&T TV remote

With the Google AssistantTM, you can complete more everyday tasks from the comfort of your couch.
  1. Press and release the MIC button on your remote.
  2. When the blue light appears on the remote, say your request into the MIC.

The Google Assistant
Your AT&T TV remote uses the Google Assistant1 to respond to your voice commands. Ask it to:
  • Access your favorite entertainment, live TV, and more than 500,000 movies, shows, and games2
  • Change channels and turn on closed captioning
  • Check the traffic, weather, stocks, and news
  • Display your calendar or Google Photos1 on your TV screen
  • Show Google answers to your questions on your TV screen
  • Turn on your lights or control other connected smart home devices.

Speak commands to your remote

Try these commands on your AT&T TV voice remote with the Google Assistant.

Speak general commands

  • What’s on TNT?
  • Open TV guide.
  • What sporting events are on now?
  • Show movies that are available now.

Go to a specific channel

  • Tune in to HBO.
  • Switch to channel 7.

Personalize your AT&T TV experience

Get started
When setting up your AT&T TV device, you can easily sign in to your Google account for a personalized experience. Just follow the steps when you set up your device, or set up anytime at a later date.

Heads up: Your Google account is different from your AT&T ID. Don’t have a Google account? Sign up online or when you’re setting up your AT&T TV device.

Sign in to your Google account, if needed
Didn’t sign in during set up? Or made changes to your account? You’ll have to sign in to personalize your experience.
  1. Press the MIC button on your remote and say Show me my photos or Show me my calendar.
  2. Select Activate Your Google Assistant on the TV screen.
  3. Sign in to your Google account.
  4. Read and accept the disclosures and data privacy info, then select Allow to activate the Google Assistant.

Control your smart home devices and default music providers
Use the Google Assistant on AT&T TV to control your connected smart home devices or play music through your default music provider.

Make sure you also have the Google Home1 app installed on your mobile device. If not, no worries. Get and download the Google Home app on your phone from Google Play or the Apple App store.
  1. Open the Google Home app on your mobile device and tap Settings.
  2. Add all your smart home devices and default music providers.
  3. Press the MIC button on your TV remote and speak your request. For example, Turn up the thermostat to 72 degrees.
