Unlike other connections, a custom connection uses only one access number. You can also include dialing rules, such as dialing 9 for an outside line. You don't use the Dialing Rules menu when creating a custom connection.
To create a custom connection:
- From the Connection Manager main screen, enter the new number you want to dial in the Dial Number Box.
- Select Connect.
- On the Save Changes to a new Connection screen, select the box next to Yes, and save the changes under a new Connection Name.
- Enter the Connection Name of the new connection in the box.
- Select Connect.
Note: Enter the number exactly as it is to be dialed. Commas represent a pause, such as when dialing 9 in a hotel or office to access an outside line. Hyphens and spaces are treated the same, so a number typed in as 555-1212 is read the same as 555 1212 or 5551212.
