Dialing rules for Connection Manager

Dialing rules give your modem special instructions for using access numbers. You can change these rules as needed.

Managing dialing rules

You can apply special rules to access numbers for AT&T Dial services.  For example, you can create a dialing rule that dials 9 to access an outside line. You can also disable Call Waiting and set up other special dialing instructions.

To create, edit or delete dialing rules:
  1. On the Settings menu, select Dialing Rules.
  2. For further instructions, refer to your operating system's documentation.

Note: Enter the number exactly as it is to be dialed. Commas represent a pause, such as when dialing 9 in a hotel or office to access an outside line. Hyphens and spaces are treated the same, so a number typed in as 555-1212 is the same as 555 1212 or 5551212.
