Fix error for channel not purchased

Did you get DIRECTV error code 721? Then, either the channel isn’t part of your package or you have to refresh your receiver.




Check package and refresh service

You get the 721 error code if:
  • Your TV package doesn’t include the channel you're trying to watch.
  • Your receiver isn’t getting the program info for this channel.

Check your package

  1. Go to your myAT&T account overview and scroll to My DIRECTV.
  2. Find My services and choose See my channel lineup to see if the channel is listed.
Want to add a channel you don’t have? Choose Show all and select the package that has the channel you want.

Refresh service and restart your receiver

Still don’t see your channel after you confirm it’s part of your package? Refresh your service and then restart your receiver to get the most current program info. This will interrupt your service for a few minutes.

Refresh your service
  1. Go to your myAT&T account overview and choose My DIRECTV.
  2. Select Manage package.
  3. Under My equipment, select Refresh receiver.

Restart your receiver
  1. Unplug your receiver's power cord from the electrical outlet, wait 15 seconds, and plug it back in.
  2. Press Power on the front of your receiver. Wait for your receiver to come back on.
  3. Refresh your service again.
