How to use the remote control function on the DIRECTV app

Check receiver compatibility and download the app

DIRECTV subscribers with receiver models HR20 and above can use a smartphone or tablet as a remote control. Here’s all you need to get started:
How to use it:
      1. Open the DIRECTV app.
      2. Tap Browse for TV - a remote control icon appears in the top right corner.

      3. Tap the remote control icon.
      4. Select Receiver pair or connect your device.
      5. Follow the prompts to complete set up.
