DIRECTV error message: Channel Not Available

Check TV programming schedule

First, check the TV programming schedule to confirm the date and start time. You can also find out if the event is blacked out in your area.

Confirm channel subscription

Confirm that you subscribe to the channel that is displaying this error message.
  1. Go to Account overview > My DIRECTV.
  2. Select Manage my plan.
  3. Select See my channel lineup
  4. Do one of the following:
    • If your channel appears in your package, reboot your service by selecting Manage & learn about equipment and then select Refresh receiver
    • If the channel doesn’t appear and you want to add it, select Add/remove channels, then Activate Now next to the channel you want to add.

Restart the receiver

If you’re still seeing the error message, restart the receiver.
  1. Unplug the receiver.
  2. Wait 15 seconds and plug it back in.
  3. Press on the Power button and wait for the receiver to reboot.
  4. After restart, you may need to refresh your service again.
