Learn how to get online with a Genie or HD DVR

Make sure the Genie has not connected to the Internet already. Press the dash (-) button on the remote control. If you see Internet: Not detected on your screen, you’re in the right place.

Before you begin, you must have the following:
  • Wireless DIRECTV CINEMA Connection Kit.
  • Wireless router connected to your home Internet service.
  • An Internet connection speed of at least 750Kbps (DSL or cable modem). We recommend 2Mbps or higher. If you are unsure of your Internet speed, you can test it using the AT&T Internet Speed Test
