Troubleshoot the DIRECTV Alexa skill

Learn what to do if Alexa isn’t working with DIRECTV Alexa.

You get the error “We were unable to link to DIRECTV at this time.”
When you set up the DIRECTV skill, the Alexa app or website will ask you to sign in to AT&T. Be sure to enter the ID and password you use to manage your DIRECTV account.

If you manage your DIRECTV account on, your DIRECTV ID may be different from your other AT&T accounts, like wireless.

Alexa stops working after you changed your password
Set up the DIRECTV skill again using the Alexa app or the Alexa portal.

Alexa isn’t connecting to Wi-Fi
