Adjust your video settings

With a Genie remote:
  1. Press INFO.
  2. Scroll with the right arrow to Audio/Video.
  3. Press the down arrow to Change Resolution & Format, then press SELECT to view the different screen formats.

With a universal remote:
  1. Press FORMAT.
  2. Select your desired screen format.

Learn about screen resolution

Your TV's screen resolution controls how many dots or pixels make up the image you see. The more pixels, the better the picture quality or definition. 

1080p is the highest display resolution standard for HDTVs.
  • “1080” is the number of lines shown on a TV screen from top to bottom
  • “p” stands for progressive, which shows how the lines are scanned
