See if you have a user ID

Good news! You may already have a user ID.

You already have one if you sign in to myAT&T and manage any of these accounts or services:
  • Wireless, home phone, or AT&T Mail
  • U-verse® TV, AT&T Internet, AT&T Phone, or DSL
  • DIRECTV bundled with wireless or AT&T Internet
  • DIRECTV (if we sent you an Access ID when you ordered your service)
  • NumberSyncSM for wearables1
You can use one ID to manage multiple AT&T accounts and services. Find out how to add more accounts to your ID.

Can't remember your ID? Use the Forgot ID link on the myAT&T sign-in page, and we’ll send it to you.

Just getting started? You’ll need a new user ID.

Set up your ID

  1. Go to the myAT&T sign-in page and select Create one now.
  2. Enter your AT&T phone number or account number and your billing ZIP Code. You may also be asked to enter a verification code.
  3. If there’s already a user ID for the account, choose from the options listed.
  4. Enter your personal info to prove your identity.
  5. Choose how you want to receive your verification code, if asked.
  6. Enter the verification code we send you.
  7. Enter a new user ID and password. Be sure your ID is an email address that starts with a letter.
  8. Save your ID and your password to your device, if you choose.
  9. Enter the contact info for your user ID.
  10. Set up your security questions and answers.
  11. Accept the AT&T User ID Terms & Conditions.
  12. Choose whether you want to sign up for paperless billing for your accounts, if asked. If you go paperless, we’ll email you a link. Select it to verify your email address.
  13. Select Finish Activation, if you’re creating an ID in the middle of a device activation process
Good to know: We may ask for a wireless number, so you can get sign-in help by text message.

After creating your ID

Password tips

  • Make your password strong and secure by following our AT&T password requirements.
  • Save your password on your phone if you want to use your fingerprint to sign in to the myAT&T app.2

Primary or secondary online access

  • Your user ID gives you online access to one or more accounts. You have primary access if the account is in your name.
  • You have secondary online access if your name isn’t on the bill. This means you can co-manage the account online.
  • Your user ID may have primary access to some accounts and secondary access to others. Here's info on how to manage online access for your ID or accounts.

Wireless customers

  • Sync your phone with a compatible wearable using NumberSync for wearables.1
  • Make sure your wireless service is active before you add the account to your ID.
