Get your modem or gateway online again

Follow the steps to reboot your modem or gateway

  1. Shut down your computer.
  2. Turn off your modem or gateway, or unplug your power supply.
  3. Unplug your telephone cord from the back of your modem or gateway.
  4. Optional: Turn off your router or unplug the power cord from the back of your router and confirm that the front panel lights are turned off.
  5. Wait for 30 seconds.
  6. Plug your telephone cord into the back of the modem or gateway.
  7. Plug in the modem's power cord or turn on your modem or gateway.
  8. Wait for the DSL light on your modem or gateway to turn solid green.
  9. Optional: Plug in your router's power cord or turn on your router. After a few seconds the Internet light (or WAN) on your router should turn on, along with more lights on your modem or gateway.
  10. Turn on your computer.
