Get email alerts on your desktop

Using Chrome, Firefox, or Safari to view AT&T Mail? If so, turn desktop notifications on to get immediate alerts for new emails.

Turn email alerts on or off

From your webmail inbox:
  1. Select the gear gear icon and then More Settings.
  2. Choose Notifications.
  3. Toggle Desktop Notifications on or off.

Good to know: You’ll see your notifications on the side of your screen when you have AT&T Mail open in a browser tab.

Check email alert settings for your web browser

Have trouble getting desktop alerts? If so, check your browser settings.

Chrome

  1. Open Chrome and select the Chrome menu (three dots).
  2. Choose Settings and then Advanced settings.
  3. Select Content settings in the Privacy and Security section.
  4. In the Notifications section, check:
    • Ask before sending (default setting) vs. Block toggle
    • Block - Make sure AT&T Mail isn’t listed
    • Allow - Add AT&T Mail if it’s not already listed

Firefox

From your webmail inbox:
  1. Right-click in a blank area on the page and select View page info.
  2. Select Permissions and scroll to Receive Notifications.
  3. Choose one of these alert settings:
    • Use Default (Always Ask)
    • Always Ask
    • Allow
    • Block
  4. Select the (X) to close the Page Info window.


Safari

  1. Open Safari and select Preferences under the Safari menu.
  2. Select the Websites tab and then Notifications.
  3. Choose if you want to allow or deny AT&T Mail to show alerts.
