[Bill & account](https://www.att.com/support/my-account/) # Sign up for and manage AutoPay Use AutoPay to pay your wireless or internet bill each month. Learn how to update your payment method or pause your AutoPay. * * * Set up AutoPaySet up AutoPayPause AutoPayPause AutoPayStop AutoPayStop AutoPay You can use your bank account, debit card, or credit card to sign up for AutoPay. 1. Go to [AutoPay](https://www.att.com/acctmgmt/mypaymentcenter?manage-ap=true "Link opens in new window"). Sign in, if asked. 2. Select the account you want to sign up, if you have more than one. 3. Toggle AutoPay __On__. 4. Follow the prompts to finish signing up. Repeat these steps for each account you want to pay automatically. AutoPay methods using a credit card will have an earlier draft date. If you use a debit card or bank account, it will draft closer to your bill due date. You can pause AutoPay for a month, but you still have to pay your bill by the due date. AutoPay will resume as usual the next month. Here’s how to pause: 1. Select the account you want to pause AutoPay, if you have more than one. 3. Select __Pause AutoPay__ and follow the prompts. 4. Repeat these steps to pause AutoPay for another AT&T service. __Heads up:__ You can’t pause AutoPay if: - Your account doesn’t have a balance. - Your scheduled payment is within the next two days. - It’s required by your service or credit status. If you pause AutoPay for more than one month, AutoPay and any AutoPay discounts may be removed from your account. You can stop AutoPay and pay your bill yourself. If you want to get a paper bill in the mail, you’ll also have to cancel paperless billing. You can’t discontinue AutoPay if your service or credit status requires automatic payments. 1. Toggle AutoPay __Off__. 4. Repeat these steps to stop AutoPay for another AT&T service. __FYI:__ Removing AutoPay also removes any associated discounts. Select the account you want to update, if you have more than one. 3. Choose __Change payment method__. 4. Select a stored payment method or __Add a new payment method__. 5. Complete the required fields and select __Submit__. __Good to know:__ If the payment method you choose is the same as you used before, the update takes effect immediately. If you choose a different payment type, the change may take up to two business days. Until the change is complete, we’ll make automatic payments using your previous card or bank account. It can take up to two bill periods for AutoPay to start.
