It isn’t active on another AT&T account. - __Device paid in full:__ You paid for your device in full at purchase or paid it off through an installment plan. Your [installment balance](https://www.att.com/acctmgmt/passthrough/installmentplan "Link opens in new window") must be zero before unlocking. - __Device not reported lost or stolen:__ Your device hasn’t been reported lost, stolen, or involved in fraud. - __Account is current:__ If you’re a current AT&T customer, your bill can’t be past due. Apple Watch is always unlocked. __AT&T account__ If you have AT&T Wireless service, sign in to your [wireless account](https://www.att.com/acctmgmt/mywireless "Link opens in new window") and select your device. If your device is unlocked, it will say __Device unlocked__ in the Device info. __iPhone__ 1. Open __Settings__, then select __General__ and __About__. 2. Scroll to __Carrier Lock__. If it says __SIM locked__, your device is locked. __Samsung released before September 1, 2025__ Here’s how to check your unlock status: 1. Open __Settings__ on your Samsung device. 2. Scroll to and select __About phone__. 3. Tap __Software information__. 4. Look for __Service provider software version__. If the text: - __Ends in ATT/ATT:__ Your device was originally from AT&T and can be unlocked. Sign in to your account to make a payment. __Good to know:__ You must wait for 30 days to unlock a device that was on a two-year contract and was upgraded early. ### Find out if your AT&T Business device is unlocked Eligible Apple, Samsung, and Google devices active on an AT&T Business Wireless account should unlock automatically.
