Manage secondary online access for your accounts

Learn how to add and remove secondary online access or transfer primary online access to your accounts.


Add or remove online access for an account

  1. Go to your myAT&T Profile.
  2. Scroll to Account settings and select Account users.
  3. Scroll to Secondary users and choose Manage secondary users.
  4. Review the actions listed in this chart. Find what you want to do, then select that action on the Manage secondary users page.

Offer someone secondary online accessSelect Add secondary users.Primary onlyChoose the wireless number or email of someone on the account. You can also enter an email for anyone not on the account. The person will receive a text or email offering them access to the account.
Remove someone’s secondary accessSelect the trash can icon next to the name of the person you want to remove.Primary onlyThis removes the ability of that user to manage the account online.
Give your primary access to a secondary user
Select Transfer primary online access under the secondary user’s name.Primary onlyThis option swaps user access. It makes the primary a secondary user, and the secondary a primary. After the transfer, only the new primary user can control who else can manage the account.

Note: This doesn't apply for U-verse® TV or AT&T Internet®.

About primary and secondary online access

  • One user ID will have primary online access to the account. This person can decide who has secondary access.
  • Secondary access users can co-manage the account online. They can do most of the things that the person with primary access can do.
  • More than one person can have secondary access.
