Change your Wi-Fi name or password - NVG589

Your Wi-Fi gateway comes with a default Wi-Fi network name and password. You can change either to make them easier to remember.

DETAILED STEPS

Use Smart Home Manager to change Wi-Fi info

Good to know: For the best Wi-Fi® performance, keep the same Wi-Fi name and password for both radios so you have just one network.
  1. Sign in to Smart Home Manager.
  2. Select My Wi-Fi.
  3. Choose Edit next to the name or password you want to change.
  4. Select X to clear the existing info, then enter a new name or password.
  5. Select Save.
  6. Reconnect your devices with your updated network info.

Update Wi-Fi info with a device connected to your network

  1. Go to your gateway settings.
  2. Select Home Network, then Wireless.
  3. If required, enter the Device Access Code located on the side of your gateway in the Password field.
  4. Select Submit.
  5. Change the desired information:
    • Wi-Fi name: In the Network Name (SSID) field, enter a new Wi-Fi network name.
    • Wi-Fi password: From the Security drop-down select WPA – Custom, then in the Key field enter a custom password.

  6. Select Save.
  7. Reconnect your devices using the updated Wi-Fi info.
