About the voicemail authentication code

Your authentication code is used to recover and reset your PIN. It's different from the six-digit voicemail PIN used to retrieve your messages. Like any PIN or password, keep your authentication code in a secure place.

Tips for creating an authentication code
Ensure your voicemail PIN is set up before creating an authentication code. You'll need your authentication code when setting up voicemail.

Set up your authentication code

  1. Dial *98 from your digital phone.
  2. Press 4 for Mailbox Settings.
  3. Press 2 for Administrative Options.
  4. Press 1 for Security and Hands Free.
  5. Press 4 for Authentication Code.
  6. Press 1 to Create or Change.
  7. Select which birthday to enter:
    • Mother - press 1
    • Father – press 2
    • Spouse – press 3
    • Child – press 4
  8. Enter the 8-digit date of birth (MMDDYYYY).
  9. Re-enter the 8-digit date to confirm and return to the Security Options menu.
