[Digital phone](https://www.att.com/support/u-verse-voice/) # Use Call Waiting Call Waiting lets you answer another call while you’re already on the phone. Learn to enable and disable this feature. * * * ## Turn Call Waiting on or off Call Waiting is a free feature that’s included with your phone service. Use it to place a current call on hold so you can answer another incoming call. A special tone will indicate an incoming call. If your phone has caller ID, the number of the incoming caller displays. ### Phone handset - Press __\*371#__ to turn Call Waiting ON. - Press __\*370#__ to turn Call Waiting OFF. ### Online portal 1. Go to the [AT&T phone portal](https://www.att.com/support/home-phone/manage "Link opens in new window"). Sign in with your member ID. 2. Select __Features__ and then __Feature Controls__. 3. Expand the __Call Waiting__ section. 4. Toggle __Call Waiting__ On or Off. ## Answer incoming call while already on phone 1. Press the __Flash__ button to put the first call on hold. 2. To return to the first call or switch back and forth between the calls, press the __Flash__ or __Hang Up__ button. ## Disable Call Waiting for a single call If you want to turn Call Waiting off for only one call: 1. Press __\*70__ to temporarily disable Call Waiting before dialing the number. 2. Enter the number you want to call. 3. Press __#__ to start the call. Once you hang up, Call Waiting will turn back on automatically. __FYI:__ You can also disable call waiting while on a call by pressing the __Flash__ button to put the call on hold. Press __\*70#__, then the __Flash__ button to return to your call.
