Set up multiple voicemail boxes online

Sharing a single AT&T Phone voicemail with family or roommates? Find out how you can set up multiple voicemail boxes online.

Set up your AT&T Phone voicemail boxes and group greeting

First, create a sub-account for each person who’ll have a voicemail box.

You can create up to 8 voicemail boxes, each with its own individual PIN, authentication code, outgoing greeting, and notification options.

How to create a voicemail box for more than one person

  1. Go to Account & services.
  2. If you have 3 or more services, select Phone from the dropdown.
  3. Select My digital home phone > Manage my plan.
  4. Choose Set up voicemail > Next.
  5. Select Directed voicemail box (Advanced) > Next.
  6. Follow the prompts to add voicemail boxes.

Next, learn how to set up voicemail user permissions.

Record a group greeting

With group greetings, callers can leave messages in either a general mailbox or a specific person’s voicemail box. The voicemail system tells the caller which number to press to leave a message for the intended recipient.
  1. Do one of the following:
    • Dial *98 from your home phone.
    • Call your home number and press * to pause the greeting.
  2. Select the voicemail box and enter the PIN when prompted.
  3. Follow the prompts.
