AeroMobile® is an in-flight mobile service provider. You can access it if you have AT&T wireless service and International Day Pass. It's only available on some international flights.
FYI: AeroMobile uses satellite technology to provide service on select aircraft.
You can use the AeroMobile network when your flight is 200 miles outside of U.S. airspace and at a cruising altitude above 20,000 feet.
You can add International Day Pass to your eligible AT&T wireless line of service any time before your flight. Or, you can use the aircraft’s in-flight Wi-Fi®, if available, to go online and add International Day Pass once onboard.
Heads up: The airline may charge a fee to connect to their in-flight Wi-Fi.
When you reach cruising altitude, and the flight crew lets you know you can use cellular devices:
Turn off airplane mode and Wi-Fi.
Turn on data roaming. You’ll connect to the AeroMobile network and get a welcome text message.
If your phone doesn’t connect automatically, you may need manually select AeroMobile from your device settings.
AeroMobile disconnects when the plane descends below 20,000 feet. The network will send a good-bye message to all registered devices. Any active calls can continue for two minutes. The service may also disconnect if:
The satellite connection is lost. You’ll be able to connect again if the satellite connection is re-established.
The aircraft nears an area under regulatory constraints, such as restricted airspace.
