The AT&T Turbo add-on provides our best experience by improving network data performance.

What to know

AT&T Turbo¹ puts network resources directly into your hands. It gives you the choice to purchase an improved level of service to help benefit high-performance mobile apps like mobile gaming when on the AT&T network (excludes roaming and Wi-Fi®).

AT&T Turbo helps the performance of your data connection. It does not provide extra data and does not apply to messaging or voice. If you go over your existing data limits, your normal network management applies.

Eligibility info

You can get AT&T Turbo to boost your wireless plan’s high-speed and hotspot data to performance data if you have a 5G smartphone and one of these plans:

AT&T Premium® PL (Unlimited high-speed data + 60GB hotspot data)
AT&T Extra® EL (75GB high-speed data + 30GB hotspot data): After 75GB, AT&T may temporarily slow speeds if the network is busy.
Select AT&T Elite® (Unlimited high-speed data + 40GB hotspot data): Only the AT&T Unlimited Elite plan that was eligible to be included in an Unlimited Your Way group. Not sure if you have an eligible Elite plan? If your bill or online account indicates that you have one or more lines on the Unlimited Elite – [#] lines plan, then those lines are eligible to add AT&T Turbo.

Purchase it for one or multiple smartphones on your account as a per-line, per-month $7 charge.

Yes. The Video Management of your rate plan still applies and applies automatically with AT&T Turbo. We strive to render streaming video in standard-definition (SD), with a max speed of 2Mbps.

For Unlimited Extra EL plans with only SD streaming, the Video Management feature stays on.
For the other eligible plans, you default to SD streaming. To experience higher definition streaming, or if you have any issues, you can turn it off online any time.

With Video Management on, other content bundled by content providers with streaming video may be impacted and slowed. This includes content such as video downloads, filters, lenses, and catalogs.

The icon indicates your line is subscribed to AT&T Turbo. It displays at the top left corner of your device’s lock screen and also on the draw-down screen. If you don’t see the icon on your phone yet, it’s coming soon. We’re rolling it out in phases.

You may see the AT&T Turbo icon even when AT&T Turbo is inactive. Examples include when you’re connected to Wi-Fi or when you have used all of your high-speed hotspot data.

As a reminder, AT&T Turbo doesn’t work when roaming or connected to Wi-Fi. It also doesn’t work when you exceed your high-speed data allotment. Additionally, your plan’s other management policies and restrictions, including Video Management, will continue to apply when subscribed to AT&T Turbo. See your plan terms for details.
