Before you switch SIM cards

Have an eSIM? You can’t move it to another device, so you’ll have to go to a store, or call us to get a new one.

Important: After you swap your SIM card, make sure you call us or go to a store to let us know what new functions your device (IMEI) can do. We will update our network. Otherwise, some features like HD Voice or your voicemail may not work.

Swap active SIM cards

  1. Turn your device off.
  2. Remove the old SIM card.
  3. Insert the new one.
  4. Turn your device on.

AT&T PREPAIDSM

Follow these steps before you turn off your device.
  1. Go to att.com/myprepaid.
  2. Select My Device and then Update Device. Don't know your IMEI for this step? Enter *#06# on your phone's keypad to get it.
  3. Enter the SIM card number and then select Continue.

  1. Connect your device to iTunes®. Still not working?
  2. Go to att.com/updatedevice.
  3. Enter the requested info, and follow the prompts to update your account with your new SIM card and IMEI number.
