Manage Wireless Emergency Alerts

If you own a Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA)-capable phone you can choose to opt in or out of all WEAs except National Alerts.

Opt-in or opt-out of WEAs

All WEAs, except for state and local test alerts, are on by default on WEA-capable phones. You can opt out of all alerts except National Alerts. Get instructions for your phone:

  1. Go to Device Support.
  2. Select your device.
  3. Choose Email & messaging then select Messaging settings
  4. Scroll to Manage emergency alerts and follow the steps for your device.
