Connect a device to a Wi-Fi network

Learn how to connect your wireless device to a Wi-Fi network to access the internet.

Turn on Wi-Fi and connect to a network

Be sure to have the Wi-Fi® network name and password handy before trying to connect to the network. These steps will work for most devices:

  1. Go to your device Settings.
  2. Choose Connections (Android only).
  3. Select Wi-Fi. If it’s turned off, toggle it to On.
  4. Choose the wireless network that you want to connect to from the provided list.
  5. Enter the network password, if required, and select Join or OK.

For detailed instructions by device, explore Device Support. Just choose your make and model to get started.

Switch Wi-Fi networks

  • Select Wi-Fi in your device Settings, or swipe down from the Notification bar and press and hold the Wi-Fi icon.
  • Choose the wireless network that you want to connect to.
  • Enter the network password, if required, and select Join.

FYI: After connecting a device to a Wi-Fi network, your device can connect every time you're in network range.
