Sign up for and manage AutoPay

Use AutoPay to pay your wireless or internet bill each month. Learn how to update your payment method or pause your AutoPay.

Get a monthly bill discount

Enroll in AutoPay and paperless billing to get a monthly discount for qualified plans.

Set up AutoPay

You can use your bank account, debit card, or credit card to sign up for AutoPay. AutoPay methods using a credit card will have an earlier draft date. AutoPay using a debit card or bank account will draft closer to your bill due date.

  1. Go to AutoPay. Sign in, if asked.
  2. Select the account you want to sign up for AutoPay, if you have multiple accounts.
  3. Toggle AutoPay On.
  4. Follow the prompts to finish signing up. Repeat these steps for each account you want to pay automatically.

Change your AutoPay payment method

Here’s how to change your payment method:

  1. Go to AutoPay. Sign in, if asked.
  2. Select the account you want to update, if you have more than one.
  3. Choose Change payment method.
  4. Select a stored payment method or Add a new payment method.
  5. Complete the required fields and select Submit.

Good to know: If the payment method you choose is the same as you used before, the update takes effect immediately. Example: You’re using a checking account and changing to a different checking account.

If the payment method you choose is a different payment type, the change may take up to two business days. Until the change is complete, we’ll make automatic payments using your previous card or bank account. Example: You’re using a debit card and changing to a checking account.

Pause AutoPay

You can pause AutoPay for a month, but you still have to pay your bill by the due date. AutoPay will resume as usual the next month. Here’s how to pause:

  1. Go to AutoPay. Sign in, if asked.
  2. Select the account you want to pause AutoPay, if you have more than one.
  3. Select Pause AutoPay and follow the prompts.
  4. Repeat these steps to pause AutoPay for another AT&T service.

Heads up: You can’t pause AutoPay if:

  • Your account doesn’t have a balance.
  • Your scheduled payment is within the next two days.
  • It’s required by your service or credit status.

If you pause AutoPay for more than one month, AutoPay and any AutoPay discounts may be removed from your account.

Stop AutoPay

You can stop AutoPay and pay your bill yourself. If you want to get a paper bill in the mail, you’ll also have to cancel paperless billing. You can’t discontinue AutoPay if your service or credit status requires automatic payments.

  1. Go to AutoPay. Sign in, if asked.
  2. Select the account you want to stop, if you have more than one.
  3. Toggle AutoPay Off.
  4. Repeat these steps to stop AutoPay for another AT&T service.

FYI: Removing AutoPay also removes any associated discounts. You'll get a late charge if you don't pay your bill in full by the due date.
