Learn about the smartphone data feature requirements on the AT&T network.

Smartphone data feature requirements on the AT&T network

Details

Understand smartphone data feature requirements
If you’re using a smartphone on the AT&T network, a compatible smartphone data feature is required. If your smartphone is on a Mobile Share® or an AT&T unlimited plan, a smartphone monthly access fee is required. If you don't have the required smartphone data feature or monthly smartphone access fee, one will be added automatically. Read the details of our data feature policy outlined in the Wireless Customer Agreement.

Notification of data feature change
A free text message will be sent advising you the smartphone has been updated with a new compatible data feature.

If you activated your smartphone on or before October 31, 2009, and do not have any of the Mobile Share or unlimited plans, you may fall into the exception policy.
