Move from postpaid to prepaid DataConnect Pass

You can move to a prepaid DataConnect Pass plan if want. You’ll need a new AT&T SIM card and must cancel your postpaid data service.

Move to prepaid DataConnect Pass

Before you begin

Cancel postpaid data service
To move from your postpaid DataConnect or Mobile Share plan to a prepaid DataConnect Pass plan, you must cancel your postpaid DataConnect or Mobile Share plan. We recommend canceling your DataConnect or Mobile Share plan on the last day of your billing cycle. If you are under a contract and the contract isn't fulfilled, early termination fees may apply.

To cancel your postpaid DataConnect or MobileShare plan, you can:
  • Chat with us using the Chat button when available.
  • Call 611 from your AT&T wireless phone.
  • Call 800.331.0500.
  • Visit an AT&T store.

Main steps

Get AT&T SIM Card and DataConnect Pass
After canceling your postpaid data service, to move to a prepaid DataConnect Pass plan:
  1. Get a new un-activated AT&T SIM card online or visit an AT&T store.
  2. Insert your new SIM card into your device.
  3. Visit the DataConnect website at att.com/buyasession.
  4. Follow the prompts and select a DataConnect Pass.
