. It’s important to check the device model number to make sure it’s still supported after the 3G network shutdown. This includes iPads®
, tablets, and wearables.
Once you know your device still works, you may need to restart your device or check the VoLTE or LTE status. (See the FAQ for more details)
Don’t see your phone make and model on the list? That means it may not work anymore. You may need to swap or upgrade to a new one.

Have session-based pricing for a data-only device?
- Visit one of our stores to get a new phone.
- Place your SIM card into the new phone. (If your SIM card doesn’t fit, get a new SIM card kit from our store.)
- Sign in to att.com/myprepaid.
- Select My Device, then Update Device.
- Follow the prompts to update your IMEI or SIM card number.
Your data-only device will only work if it supports 4G LTE speeds and higher.
