Automatic payment details
AutoPay automatically charges your bank account, debit card, or credit card to pay your AT&T bill each month. No more writing checks, buying stamps, or forgetting your payment! You can review your bill online before the payment runs.
Sign up for AutoPay
- Go to AutoPay. Sign in, if asked.
- Choose the account you want to sign up (if you have more than one).
- Turn AutoPay On.
- Follow the prompts to complete your setup.
Tip: Paperless billing and AutoPay are separate features. You can turn on either one, or both. If you update your AutoPay payment method, changes may take up to five business days to take effect.
Change your AutoPay
Want to update payment details? You can add or change payment methods.
- Go to AutoPay. Sign in, if asked.
- Select the account you want to update, if you have more than one.
- Choose Change payment method.
- Select a stored payment method or Add a new payment method.
- Complete the required fields and select Submit.
Tip: We’ll use the payment method on file until the change processes, which can take up to five business days.
Stop AutoPay
Use these steps to turn off AutoPay.
- Go to AutoPay. Sign in, if asked.
- Choose the account you want to remove AutoPay from, if you have more than one.
- Toggle AutoPay Off.
Details for common issues
- AutoPay options aren’t available: Your role may not have billing permissions, or your account may have billing rules that limit changes.
- AutoPay hasn’t started: If you just signed up, it may take up to six weeks to start.
- Payment method update doesn’t show: Changes to your payment method can take up to five business days.
