What is the Emergency Broadband Benefit?

Many people rely on internet and cell service for things like virtual schooling, remote work, applying for jobs, accessing healthcare services, and so much more.

To help eligible households pay for broadband services during the pandemic, the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has launched the Emergency Broadband Benefit (EBB).

This program can temporarily help eligible households pay for either their internet or prepaid wireless service from AT&T. Here’s what you need to know.

What does the Emergency Broadband Benefit provide?

The EBB program provides qualifying households with a savings of up to $50 each month on eligible broadband or prepaid wireless services. For eligible households on Tribal lands, the savings can be as much as $75 per month.

How do I know if I’m eligible for the EBB?

The customer is responsible for submitting their eligibility request and any required documentation to the federal government’s National Verifier at getemergencybroadband.org.

Customers may be eligible for the EBB program if they meet certain income requirements or participate in select government programs, including but not limited to National School Lunch Program, SNAP or Lifeline. However, participation in one of these government programs does not automatically qualify the customer in the EBB Program.

When Can I Apply for the Benefit?

The official start date was May 12, 2021. Customers interested should check the official EBB consumer portal at www.getemergencybroadband.org  or att.com/ebb for information.

Which AT&T services qualify for savings through the EBB program?
