How much do you need?

Different online activities use different amounts of data.


  • To surf the web, send email, download your favorite apps, and check in with your social networks with your smartphone or tablet, get an economical 300MB plan.
  • If you also download and stream music/video or use high-bandwidth applications, choose a 3GB plan.
  • If you need to share your data connection with Wi-Fi capable devices — MP3 players, tablets, laptops, and more — while using your smartphone as a mobile hotspot, get a robust 5GB plan.

Remember, all AT&T data plans let you save on your data usage by including access to over 29,000 AT&T Wi-Fi Hotspots!

It's easy to keep track of your data with these easy-to-use tools from AT&T.


  • AUTOMATIC NOTICES — Receive a courtesy text and an email when you've reached 65%, 90%, and 100% of your data usage for the month.
  • CALL — Dial *DATA# (*3282#) from your wireless phone. We'll send you a free text message with your usage info.
  • CLICK — View your usage on your computer or phone through your myAT&T account or phone app.

Data usage information generally will be available for viewing within 24 hours or less of actual data usage.
