How to set up your iPhone

Setup is simple

If you have an existing iPhone®, make sure you back up your phone to iTunes® or iCloud before you do anything else.

Activate your phone 2 ways:

Download and install the latest version of iTunes to your computer and connect your phone.

Activate your device

Please activate and use the SIM card included with your new phone

Setup Assistant

Turn on your new phone and follow the Setup Assistant to enter account information and personalize your settings. Use these links for more information on your phone setup:

Sign in with or create a free Apple® ID, or reset your password.
Set up iCloud
Turn on recommended features, such as Find My iPhone

Transfer your content

If you previously had an iPhone, visit Apple Support for information on restoring via iTunes or iCloud; Otherwise, visit AT&T Mobile Transfer for information on transferring your contacts, photos, and videos from your old phone to your new phone.

Connecting to Wi-Fi, mail, and more

Quick steps to connect to a Wi-Fi network:

Tap Settings > Wi-Fi. If Wi-Fi is off, tap the on/off icon to turn it on
Tap the Wi-Fi network you want to join under Choose a Network...
If you see a lock icon beside a Wi-Fi network you are want to join, you need to know the password
Type slowly when entering the password. Contact the Wi-Fi administrator if you don't know the password

Quick steps to set up your email:

Tap Mail
Select your account type, or tap Other if your account type is not listed.
Enter your account information and tap Save. You may be prompted for additional settings depending on your email account type.
Once your account information is saved, you can start sending and receiving email.

Quick steps to setting up your voicemail:

From the Home screen, tap Phone.
Tap Voicemail and then Set Up Now.
Enter a voicemail password and tap Save.
Re-enter your voicemail password, and tap Save.
Select to have a prerecorded, default greeting, or to record your own custom greeting, and then tap Save.
Your voicemail box will be displayed

NOTE: These setting can be changed at any time after your voicemail box is set up by tapping Greeting in the top right corner of the Voicemail tab
