Managing notifications for an app
From the Home screen, tap Settings.
Tap Notifications.
Scroll to and tap Messages.
For this tutorial, we're showing how to manage notifications for Messages. You can select a different option, but steps may vary based on which app you choose.
Select the type of alerts you'd like to receive.
You can also completely disable notifications for an app.
Tap Banner Style.
Select your preferences.
Temporary notifications appear at the top of your screen and then disappear after several seconds. Persistent notifications must be dismissed manually.
Tap Messages in the top left corner to return screens.
Tap Sounds.
Select your preferences.
You can also select your vibration preferences.
Tap Messages in the top left corner to return screens.
Tap or slide the Badges switch ON or OFF.
Badges show the number of unreviewed notifications for an app on the Home screen.
Tap Show Previews.
Depending on your device, the default option may be different.
Select your preferences.
Limiting when your notification previews are visible can help protect important personal information.
Tap Messages in the top left corner to return screens.
Tap Notification Grouping.
Select your preferences.
Grouped notifications allow you to view or dismiss multiple notifications from the same app at once.
Tap Messages in the top left corner to return screens.
Tap Customize Notifications.
Tap Repeat Alerts.
Select your preferences.
Alerts repeat in two minute intervals.
