Setting up Face ID
From within the Settings app, tap Face ID & Passcode.
If necessary, enter your passcode. You're required to set up a passcode in order to use Face ID.
Tap Set Up Face ID.
For this tutorial, we're showing how to set up Face ID. You can also set up your iPad to unlock only using a passcode, but steps may vary based on what you choose.
Tap Get Started.
With your face positioned within the camera frame, slowly rotate your head in a circle.
Tap Continue.
With your face positioned within the camera frame, slowly rotate your head in a circle.
Tap Done.
If necessary, enter and confirm a passcode to use when Face ID is not available.
Press the Top button to put iPad to sleep.
Press the Top button to wake iPad.
You must be looking at iPad to activate Face ID.
Swipe up from the bottom of your screen to unlock iPad.
You've completed the steps!
