Turning your Passcode and Stolen Device Protection on
Stolen Device Protection is another layer of security which will help secure your iPhone even if the thief knows your passcode.
1.
From the Settings app, scroll to and tap Face ID & Passcode.
If your device supports Touch ID, this option will instead read Touch ID & Passcode.

From this screen, you can perform a variety of actions to manage your device security:
- Set up Face or Touch ID - Register your face—or on supported devices, fingerprint—to unlock your device more easily. Note that these options may be less secure than exclusively using a passcode.
- Turn Passcode On - Select this option to set up and use a passcode to lock your iPhone. A passcode is required to use some device features, like Apple Pay.
- Stolen Device Protection - Enable this feature to add an extra layer of protection in the event of your device being stolen, and someone knows your passcode. You must have a passcode and Face or Touch ID enabled to use this feature.
